puppy1.png When you are looking for a veterinary care clinic you should be able to count on superior care and excellent service. We at Chemstrand Oaks Veterinary Hospital in Pensacola, FL have assembled an expert team of veterinary professionals to bring you the best possible healthcare for your pet. We have a state of the art veterinary facility which is clean, comfortable, and efficient. Call 850-474-1922 to schedule an appointment and we will find a time that is convenient for you.

Once a year, you should take your pet in for a check-up. This will include a complete physical exam, and appropriate lab tests as deemed appropriate. Immunizations are done based on need and risk factors and this will be discussed with you. The need for a physical exam is far more important in our pets since they age must faster than us and cannot tell you they are having a problem.

When was the last time you examined your pet's mouth? Can you feel for any abnormalities in the size of a thyroid, kidney, spleen, liver, bladder stone, or abdominal mass; Detect heart arhythmias or murmurs; Changes in weight and what it means; Can you see heartworms or detect their damage until it is advanced; Distinguish between minor lumps and ones that are potentially deadly, if not addressed early? Addressing problems early is often the difference between success and failure and it affects the end cost of treatment as well. With an annual exam, you will feel more confident that you are not missing a painful or deadly condition that could hurt your pet. While not all diseases give sufficient warning, many do and prevention prevents regrets later. Let us make you and your pet more comfortable and confident.

Bring in any medical history you have of your pet when you come to our hospital. It's best to keep a journal of your pet's health throughout his or her life, including behavioral shifts. If you have something like this, share it with our team. If not, let us know everything that you think will be important. The doctors can still work with whatever information you have. That is, to insure that you will always have the most up to date care presently available.

If we feel that your pet's condition warrants referral, we will gladly arrange a referral to a specialist who has advanced expertise in the area required. We may also seek other opinions on case management from consultants on VIN (Veterinary Information Network). Our goal is the same as yours. That is, to insure that you will always have the most up to date care presently available.
